Welcome to Random*Fandom’s Author Directory!

Featured

Random*Fandom is a multi-fandom resource for readers and writers of fanfiction. We’re a small community of like-minded fans of writing and fanfiction. This blog is our way of helping everyone from every fandom keep track of authors and where they post their stories – because not everyone is on fanfiction.net. More and more authors are choosing to post their stories on individual blogs or alternative archives.

Start searching for your favourite writers by clicking on ‘Fandoms’ in the menu bar. To find an author from a fandom you love – just click on the fandom and all authors who have submitted their details and write for that fandom will be listed. Authors may be listed under more than one fandom. Please read our disclaimer (also linked on the menu bar) over content and accuracy of the current listings.

Random*Fandom: The community you never have to leave, no matter how many times you switch fandom.

FictionPad

FictionPad is a relatively new multi-fandom archive I thought it would be handy to pimp. It’s easy to join, has discussion groups where you can suggest features and improvements and the owners actually listen to their members. If you have an account at fanfiction.net, you can import all of your stories in minutes and all you’ll need to do is check that the age limit, fandom, genre and characters are listed accurately.

FictionPad has a genre for erotica, which I know a lot of fandoms thrive on, and also has an 18+ rating that is only accessible if you enter the correct birthdate in your profile. Viewing as a guest disables any 18+ content, you WILL need to create an account to read those stories. Writers should also be aware that as ffnet taps out at an M rating – any stories that have MA content will be imported as 16+ and will need to have their rating changed lest the reputation of FictionPad be subject to the same ‘member policing’ that ffnet has.

It’s very easy to add new stories – especially if you write in Word or a similar programme. Simply select all of the text in your document (Ctrl + A will do this in Windows), copy (Ctrl + C) and then click in the text pane of FictionPad then paste (Ctrl + V). You can edit the text in the pane but any formatting (italics, bold etc) will be pasted as is. I heartily recommend this new archive for cross-posting with ffnet for those worried about their fics being pulled or even as a new ‘home’ for those completely hacked off with ffnet’s determination to do absolutely nothing about the groups that bully other members for minor Terms of Service violations.

If you’ve simply had enough of archives and want to go your own way with a blog – don’t forget to let us know where you are so we can add you to our directory. Just email janofarc15@gmail.com to be included in our directory.
